My niece Amy had her homecoming last week. Each year I design the shirt for her “group” – and each year we’ve taken it to the next level. The theme of their homecoming was “Rave” – which didn’t give me a lot of artistic direction (previous themes were “circus” and “beach”) Her friends love the song “Sexy and I Know It” by LFMAO. It’s pretty catchy & ridiculous. They asked me to design a group shirt based on the video… Seriously? I was like, what can I do with THAT to make it school appropriate?
Well, after much brainstorming and some careful lyric editing I came up with a black tshirt they really loved. I had a qr code printed in yellow on the sleeve which links directly to the music video, so anyone who scans their shirt will hear it’s soundtrack. They said they had kids running up to them all day at school and later at the game asking if they could scan their shirt from their phones. Now THAT’s sexy design (and we know it).
